soil and deposit science

Planning of soil excavation projects is a complex situation in which, in addition to spatial planning requirements, the economic viability of the deposit, intervention regulations, hydrological issues and special protection of species require solutions. In addition to the preparation of mining applications, for all specialist contributions required under environmental and nature conservation law, we provide competent support as an interdisciplinary office in application procedures, inventory and deposit management. Through our business network with external consultants from other disciplines (sound experts, subsoil surveyors, etc.) we offer interdisciplinary solutions for your projects. In the field of open mining of raw materials, we accompany mining projects like peat extraction, sand mining (dry or wet mining) and solid rock.

The subject of peatlands has been one of the focal points of our office for more than 25 years now. The recording of the stratigraphic structure of the peat bogs includes the analysis of the degree of decomposition, the thickness of the peatlands as well as protocols of macroscopic admixtures and provides detailed basic information, e.g. on the economic usability of deposits, the preparation or successful rewetting of mining fields or the development of maintenance and development plans for peatlands or monitoring. We explore the hydrological properties of a bog body by means of supplementary groundwater and bog water measuring points.
